That Little Fake

Shopping here, shopping there, and shopping anywhere. No one can stop people from shopping, most especially Filipinos. Kicker Daily News says about 93% of the Filipinos love to do shopping.

According to Lou-Ann Navalta, leader of the Nielsen Shopper Insights said that Filipinos love the act of shopping.

Mobile phones, bags, perfumes, shoes or slippers and etc. are the most vulnerable product when it comes to imitation. Imitation is something that is made or produced as a copy. (Merriam-Webster Dictionary).

Practically speaking, Filipinos love to buy a product that may satisfied they needs or wants.

I conduct an observation one online shop named Wearhaus, who sell phone replica or premium copies of gadgets for 3 consecutive days every 3:00 pm.

On My First Observation (September 15, 2015).

Second Observation (September 16, 2015)

Third Observation (September 17, 2015)

*Based on my observations. I've observed that In buying some stuffs, Pinoys prefer to buy things which they think they can save more such as discount or a Buy one take one order.
Most of Filipinos are the who ask how much the clone phones cost, that will show how interested them to buy that product even though they know it was fake or premium copies.

I also conducted an Interview on How Pinoys thought about fake products. below is the table of my 4 questions with 3 participants.

In the table above, it shows how Pinoys prefer the original than the fake but still they're willing to buy it.

Another observation that I did was Bargain shopping. Bargain shopping has become a trend throughout the country until the Filipino cope with the system. Great example here is the "Biyernesan" of Talisay City, Negros Occidental. Every friday they sell a good bargains to customers. Bags, clothes, shoes and etc. This enables Filipinos to buy products for a very cheap price; most of these items even have imitated signature brands. such as Havaianas, Chanel, Gucci, Burberry and etc.

The bottom line here is no matter what Filipino choose, either Original or Fake, always remember "Its the thoughts that counts". It is all about how the thing they bought could satisfied their needs or wants. The joy that they felt when they're using those products, and it is how Filipino shopping in a unique way.
